CMP: How Likely is it

certain event An event that is bound to happen-for example, the sun rising tomorrow.
chances The likelihood that something will happen.
equally likely events Two or more events that have the same chance of happening.
event A set of outcomes.
experimental probability A probability that is found by experiementing.
fair game A game in which each player has the same chance of winning.
favorable outcome An outcome in which you are interested.
impossible event An event that cannot happen.
outcome A possible result of an action.
possible A word used to describe an event that can happen.
probability A number between 0 and 1 that describes the likelihood that an event will occur.
probable Another way to say likely.
random events Events that are uncertain when viewed individually but which may exhibit a regular pattern over many trials.
theoretical probability A probability found by analyzing a situation mathematically.
trial One round of an experiment.
