Quadratic Vocab

TermDefinition
Parabola The graph of a quadratic function
Vertex The maximum or minimum value on a parabola
Maximum The highest point on a parabola that opens downward
Minimum The lowest point on a parabola that opens upward
Axis of Symmetry Center line where parabola folds on itself creating two mirror images
X-intercept Where solutions (roots, zeros) of a quadratic are found on a graph
Solutions Values of x that makes f(x) equal zero
Domain The set of all possible x-values
Range The set of all possible y-values
