Perspective Review

| point of view | the type of narrator telling the story |
| first person point of view | the narrator is a character in the story - "I, me, my" |
| second person point of view | the narrator is talking directly the reader as if the reader is in the story - "you, your" |
| third person omniscient point of view | the narrator is not a character in the story and knows everything about everyone - he, she, they, them |
| third person limited point of view | the narrator is not a character in the story but only knows everything about one character - he, she, they, them |
| perspective | Perspective is either the author's or the narrator’s interpretations of events, people, and places based on their own personal experiences and background. |
| author's purpose | The author's reason or intention for writing. What do they want this text to do? (inform, persuade, entertain) |
