Interpreting and analyzing data
| Term | Definition |

| Interquartile Range (IQR) | Difference between quartile 3 and quartile 1. It also measures the spread of the data. |
| Quartile 1 | The middle number between the smallest value and the median of the data set. Also known as lower quartile. |
| Mean | average; the sum of all values in the set divided by the amount of numbers given in the data set. |
| Median | middlemost number in a set of data |
| Mode | number most often used in a set of data |
| Range | difference between the highest value and lowest value in a set of data |
| Quartile 3 | The middle number between the median and the highest value of the data set. Also known as the upper quartile. |
| Outliers | data value way higher or way lower than most of the numbers in a data set |
| Symmetrical | shape of a graph when most of the data values are grouped in the middle around the mean and tail off equally to both sides |
| Skewed | when data is off to the right or off to the left |
| Skewed Left | the graph has a tail to the left side (lower values) |
| Skewed Right | the graph has a tail to the right side (higher values) |
| Standard Deviation | A measure of how spread out numbers are |
