Customary Type of measurement used in the U.S.A. Measures with feet, gallons, and pounds.
Metric Most common type of measurement. Measures in Grams, liters, and meters.
Mile A customary unit of length equal to 5,280 feet.
Yard A customary unit of length equal 3 feet.
Feet A customary unit of length equal to 12 inches.
Inch The smallest unit of customary measurement for length.
Gallon A customary unit of volume for liquid measure that is equal to 4 quarts.
Quart A customary unit of volume equal to 2 pints.
Pint A customary unit of volume equal to 2 cups.
Cup The smallest unit of customary measurement for volume.
Ton A customary unit of mass equal to 2,000 pounds.
Pound A customary unit of mass equal to 16 ounces
Ounce The smallest unit of customary measurement mass.
Kilometer A metric unit of length equal to 1,000 meters.
Meter The base metric unit of length.
Centimeter A metric unit of length. It takes 100 of them to make a meter.
Millimeter A metric unit of length. It takes 1,000 of them to make a meter.
Liter The base metric unit of volume.
Milliliter A metric unit of volume. It takes 1,000 of them to make a liter.
Kilogram A metric unit of mass equal to 1,000 grams.
Gram The base metric unit of mass.
Milligram A metric unit of mass. It takes 1,000 of them to make a gram.
