Place Value

| Digits | The symblos used to show numbers:0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, |
| Standard Form | A common way of writing a number with commas separting groups of three digits starting from the right. Ex. 3,458 |
| Value | The number a digit represents, which is determined by the position of the digit. |
| Expanded Form | A way to write a number that shows the place vlaue of each digit. Ex. 3,000+500+20+3+0.1+0.07 |
| Equivalent Decimals | Decimals that name the same amount. Ex. 0.7=0.70 |
| Word Form | A way to write a number using words. |
| Expanded Notation | A way to write a number that shows the digit multiplied times the value of the place the digit is in. EX. (3x1,000) + (5x100)+(2x10)+(3x1)+(9x0.1)+(2z0.01) |
| Tenths | One part in ten equal parts. |
| Hundredths | One part in a hundred equal parts. |
| Decimal Point | A dot separating the ones and the tenths place in a decimal number. |
| Decimal | A number that uses place value and a decimal point to show the value of a number. |
| Number Line | A diagram that represents numbers as points on a line. |
| Place | The position of the digit in the numeral. |
