Two-dimensional distribution
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Two-dimensional distribution | The collective of two individual values wich correspond to two variables, x and y. |
| Scatter diagram | The dots known that gives the representation of the distribution on a graph . |
| Correlation | It's when there is a certain relationship between the values in the distribution. |
| Line of best fit | It's the straight line that fits in the graph by the correlation because the scatter diagram is relatively narrow. |
| Correlation strenghts | The correlation of two variables can be strong or weaker depending on how close the dots on the diagram are to the line of best fit |
| Positive correlation | A correlation is positive when, if one variable, x, incrases, the other variable, y, also tends to incrase. |
| Negative correlation | A correlation is negative when if a variable "x" incrases, variable "y" tends to decrase. |
| Zero or no correlation | When there isn't relationship between two variables. |
| Correlation coefficient | It's the correlation value represented using the letter "r". |
