How long was a civil service exam? They lasted between 24 to 74 hours.
When were Civil Service Exams created? During the Sui Dynasty(581-618 CE), but fully brought together during the Qing Dynasty. It was very important during the Qing Dynasty.
What branches of learning were left out of the Civil Service Exams? Science, Math and Engineering were topics kept from the Civil Service Exam, leaving people who had these topics as their strong suit out of the government.
During which Dynasty's rule were Civil Service Exams stopped? During the Yuan Dynasty, when the Mongols conquered the emperor of the Song Dynasty.
What decided Government Positions during the Yuan Dynasty? During the Yuan Dynasty, Government positions were chosen by 4 ranks. First, the Mongols. Second ,Foreigners. Third, Northern Chinese People. Last, Southern Chinese People.
Did the Mongols ever bring back the exams? Yes, in 1315, when a shortage of scholars aroused, the Mongols brought back these Exams. Although, they did have hefty limits such as, favoring Mongols and foreigners who took these exams.
When did the Mongols Rule end? During the 1350s and 1360s, rebels from china became at large numbers and wearied down the Mongols eventually leading to their defeat in 1368.
