Circumference of a circle Measurement of the perimeter of a circle C=(pi) x d d=diameter
Area of a triangle A=1/2(b x h)
Area of a trapezoid A=1/2 h (b1 + b2)
Constant Number by itself
Volume of a Pyramid V=1/3Bh B=area of base (formula depends on shape of base)
Volume of a Prism V=Bh B=area of base (formula depends on shape of base)
Inverse operation Undoing Operation Multiplication and Division are Inverse, Adding and Subtracting are Inverse.
Upper Quartile Median of the upper half (Median is number in the physical middle.)
Upper Quartile Median of the upper half (Median is number in the physical middle.)
Median Number in the physical middle
Mean Average
Mode Number that appears most frequently
Closed Circle on an Inequality Graph less than or equal to, greater than or equal to.
Open Circle on an Inequality Graph less than or greater than
Interquartile Range UQ minus LQ (or range of whats in the box of a box plot)
Range Maximum minus minimum
Commutative Property Can move numbers or variables around and you get an equivalent expression. x+y = y+x
Associative Property Can group numbers in parentheses and get an equivalent expression. (x+y)+z = x+(y+z)
Distributive Property Can multiply outer term to the first inside term, keep the operand and multiply by the second inside term. 2(x+2) = 2x+4.
Percent Equation Part=Percent x Whole (percent must be in decimal or fraction form)
Percent Per 100
Integers -2, 4, 0. . . . (negative or positive full numbers and 0)
Rational Numbers Almost all numbers, except decimals that don't repeat or terminate
Whole Numbers 0 and Positive Whole Numbers.
m in y=mx+b slope (rise over run)
b in y=mx+b y-intercept (y coordinate where graph hits the y axis)
at most (inequality symbol) less than or equal to
at least (inequality symbol greater than or equal to
Complementary Angles Add up to 90
Supplementary Angles Add up 180
Triangle Inequality Theorem (2 sides in triangle must be...) ....greater than the 3rd side
Triangle Angle-Side Relationship : The largest angle is across from... ...the largest side. (smallest side across from smallest angle...)
Rule for adding a negative and a positive number Different signs : Subtract (take sign of larger number, regardless of sign)
7% as a decimal .07
Exponents repeated multiplication (ex: 3 to the 5th power is 3x3x3x3x3)
Special Rule for Inequalities flip sign ONLY when solving by multiplying or dividing by a negative on both sides

Rule for adding 2 negative numbers Same Signs-Add, use common sign
Rule for subtracting a negative number same as adding ex: 2-(-2) is 4
How to convert from Mixed to Improper Multiply whole number times denominator and add numerator. This is the new numerator, denominator stays the same.
How to convert from Improper to Mixed Divide (tops in bottoms out) Number on top is the full number, remainder is new numerator.
Percent to decimal and decimal to percent Percent to decimal : 2 decimals to left, Decimal to percent: 2 decimals to right
Percent to Fraction Over 100
Prediction (with probability) desired/total x larger number

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
