What is the definition of poetry An expression of ideas feeling in words, usually having a form of, rhythm and rhyme.
What is the definition of line A group of words arranged in a row that ends for a reason other than the right-hand margin.
What is the definition of stanza Is a fixed number of lines of verse forming a unit of a poem. This is similar to the lines that form a paragraph in narrative writing.
What is the definition of rhyme scheme This is a pattern of rhyme between lines of a poem or song. It is usually referred to by using letters to indicate which lines rhyme.
What is the definition of onomatopoeia A figure of speech in which words are used to imitate sounds.
What is the definition of alliteration The repetition of the same or similar sounds at the beginning as words.
What is the definition of rhyme The occurrence of the same or similar sounds at the end of two or more words.
What is the definition of repetition A sound device in which sounds, words, or phrases are repeated to emphasize the point.
What is the definition of rhythm The beat and movement of language (rise and fall, repetition and variation change of pitch, mix of syllables, melody of words).
What is the definition of personification A figure of speech in which nonhuman things or abstract ideas are given human attributes
What is the definition of metaphor A figure of speech in which two things are compared, usually saying one thing is another.
What is the definition of simile A figure of speech in which two things are compared using the word "like" or "as".
What is the definition of hyperbole A figure of speech in which deliberate exaggeration is used for emphasis.
What is the definition of imagery The author's use of of description and words to create pictures in the reader's mind.
