Vocabulary to talk about work/life balance

always connected always available to communicate online, especially at work
downtime free time to relax and not do very much, especially time away from work
chill out to relax completely, or not allow things to upset you
commitment something you have agreed, planned, or promised to do
9-to-5 describes a job with regular working hours, often at an office, from nine o'clock in the morning to 5 o'clock in the evening, Monday through Friday
assignments tasks you have to do (usually for school)
busy schedule a lot of tasks, jobs or events you have to do in a short time
family life time you spend with your family and the activities you do together
lecture a formal talk given to a group of people in order to teach them about a subject
me time time for yourself when you can do exactly what you want
office hours time when an office is open, or when workers are present in the office. At a college, this can mean time when a professor is available to meet with students.
seminar a meeting of a group of people with a teacher or expert for training, discussion, or study of a subject
social life the activities you do with other people, for pleasure, when you are not working
time off a period of time when you do not work because of illness or vacation, or because your employer has given you permission to do something else
shift daily work schedule hours
self care a conscious act one takes in order to promote their own physical, mental, and emotional health (for example, doing yoga, getting a massage, going for a walk, etc.)
home schooling parents teaching their own children at home rather than sending them to school
working from home doing job tasks from your house or home office, rather than going to a physical office or job location
working remotely doing job tasks anywhere (not necessarily in an office), using technology to connect with coworkers
