critical thinking 1

QuestionAnswer
why is critical thinking important we need to learn how to "weed" through it and not just passively accept it
what is the first step before you solve a problem recognize there is a problem and determine its importance
what is the definition of a "problem" a question or situation that calls for a solution
what could happen when you avoid a problem the problem could then become larger or more complex or even more problems could be created
what are the 2 types of problems severe problems: require immediate solutions, and important problems:
what can be one possible cost of solving a problem you create a new problem
why do people often make a mistake when defining a problem they think a consequence of the problem is the actual problem
what are 2 common results when people attempt to solve something that is not really a problem solution does not work because it fails to address the real problem, farther decisions are needed to solve the real problem
what are 3 things to keep in mind when defining a problem get the information you need, even if you have to ask for it, do not be tricked into solving offshoots, or other consequences, do not be overwhelmed when you are faced w/ what looks like, or what you have been told is a giant problem
shat is an assumption an idea based on too little or not fry good info
what is a roadblock to defining a problem when we act to quickly
what do we "do" instead of asking questions accept what ever we hear or see
what 3 things does critical thinking require being aware of interrelated critical questions, being able to ask and answer critical questions at the appropriate time, a desire to use critical questions
what does it meant when we ask questions it shows your are curious, want to know more, etc.
when is critical thinking useful reacting to something we read, hear, or watch, form an argument about something, write an essay in response to something, participate in class or discussions
