| Immiscribe | One substance will not mix with another. |
| Suspension | Mixture in which one or more substances are immiscribe. |
| Emulsifier | Substance that helps to keep particles in suspension. |
| Colloid | Suspension with very tiny particles suspended in it. |
| Henry's Law | Solubility of gas increases with pressure. |
| Precipitation | When a solute comes out of a solution. |
| Precipitate | The substance that precipitates from a solution. |
| Dilute | A solution with a relatively small amount of solute. |
| Concentrated | A solution with a relatively large amount of solute. |
| Concentration | Quantitative measure of grams of solute per 100 grams of solution. |
