Chapter 20 Religion We are called to discipleship

| virtue | a good habit that helps us to act according to God’s love for us |
| theological virtues | are gifts from God that helps us to be more like God |
| faith | enables us to believe in God, a choice we make because God created us with free will, grows through prayer, the sacraments and living out the commandments |
| hope | enables us to trust Jesus and God’s promise to love us always, Helps us spread the Kingdom of God, Helps us respond to the happiness God placed in our hearts |
| love | Enables us to love God and to love our neighbors, The greatest of all virtues, Love is the goal of our lives as Christians |
| prudence | the virtue that helps us make sound judgements and direct our actions towards what is good |
| justice | the virtue that helps us to give to God and our neighbors what is rightfully theirs |
| fortitude | this virtue helps us act bravely in the face of troubles and fears |
| temperance | this virtue helps us keep our desires under control and balance our use of material goods |
| cardinal virtues | guide our minds and actions and lead a good life |
