Digestive System

TermDefinition
Mouth Is where the digestive process start
Salivary glands The saliva mixes the food
Pharynx Directs air or food to its proper place
Esophagus Is a long tube that pushes the food into the stomach
Liver and pancreas They send juices to the small intestine
Stomach It is like a mixer. It uses gastric juices to turn the food into a thick liquid.
Gallbladder Concentrates and stores bile, a fluid made by the liver
Small intestine Separates the nutrients from the waste
Large Intestine Eliminates the waste
Anus The waste, called faeces, leaves the body here
