Identifying and Comparing Fractions

What is the definition of a proper fraction? A fraction with a smaller numerator than the denominator
What is the definition of an improper fraction? A fraction with an equal or larger numerator than the denominator

We make equivalent fractions by ________. Multiplying the numerator and denominator by the same multiplier
We simplify fractions by ________. Dividing the numerator and denominator by the same divisor
How do we convert improper fractions to mixed numbers? We divide the numerator by the denominator to find the whole number and new numerator. The denominator stays the same.
How do we convert mixed numbers to improper fractions? We multiply the whole number by the denominator and add the numerator. The denominator stays the same.
Equivalent fraction to 1/2? 5/10
Equivalent fraction to 1/3? 12/36
Equivalent fraction to 1/10? 10/100
Simplest form of 3/15? 1/5
Simplest form of 15/60? 1/4
