Step function vocab

TermDefinition
ceiling function the function such that f(x) is equal to the least integer greater than or equal to x
domain the set of input values for which a relation is defined
floor function the function such that f(x) is equal to the greatest integer less than or equal to x
piecewise function a function that is defined differently over separate parts of its domain
range the set of output values corresponding to the domain values
step function a piecewise function that is defined by a constant value over each part of its domain; graph resembles steps of a staircase
