What three things are needed for fossil fuels to form? Time, heat, and pressure.
The type of rock that forms in layers is called... sedimentary rock
What are the steps to fossil fuel formation? Organic material dies and is buried under sediment, 2. After millions of years (time) of heat and pressure, 3. the organic material turns into a fossil fuel.
What type of organic matter is coal formed from? Ferns and big leafy plants
What type of organic matter do oil and natural gas form from? tiny microscopic sea organisms
What is petroleum? Oil
