Translations

TermDefinition
Translation Moving or sliding a shape without turning it
Rotation To turn a figure around a given point
Reflection To flip a figure over the line of symmetry
Pre-image The original figure before it goes through a transformation.
Image The new figure/position created by a transformation
Prime Notation Is used to identify the image position
Congruence The same line lengths and the same angle measures.
Transformation Moving a shape without changing its size or shape
Line of Reflection/Symmetry The line in which a figure is reflected
Dilation Changes the size of a figure but not the angle measures.
