AP Human Geography Unit 5 Agriculture
| Term | Definition |

| Terrace Farming | Building a series of steps or flat land for farming on the sides of hills or mountains. These is beneficial for collecting rainfall & sustaining crops |
| Horticulture | The practice of growing crops through gardening |
| Animal Domestication | When humans raise or care for animals for protection or food. |
| Plant Domestication | Growing crops that were planted, raised & harvested by humans |
| Organic Farming | Foods grown without pesticides and only grown using organic fertilizers (manure). Believed to be healthier but more labor intensive. |
| Second Agricultural Revolution | The changes that took place when farm equipment/machines were developed to increase farm production |
| Feed Lots | Confined spaces where animals, such as hogs and cattle are kept. This allows for little movement and animals gain weight faster & require less room. |
