Why are the Virginia's Indians called Eastern Woodland Indians? They mainly lived in forest or woodlands.
What affected the food, clothing, and shelters of American Indians in Virginia long ago? Seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer)
How did the Virginia's Indians get their food in winter? They hunted for birds and other animals. They also lived on stored food that they hunted and preserved during the previous fall.

In what seasons did Virginia's American Indians grow and harvest their own crops (including, beans, squash and corn)? They grew in the summer and harvested in the fall.

How do most natives people live in Virginia today? Today, most natives people live like other Virginians. Their cultures have change with time.
Why is archaeology important? Archaeology helps us understand the past.
Archaeologist have discovered the site of the original fort in Jamestown. What do the artifacts they've recovered teach us? The artifacts give us clues about the interactions of the English, Africans, and Indians in early Virginia. They teach us about the people who lived long ago.
What was the name of the large Indian town used by Indian leaders for several hundred years before the English arrived? Werowocomoco
In 1607, Werowocomoco was the headquarters of what Indian leader? Powhatan
What was Jamestown? Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement in North America
