| Term | Definition |

| Biquadratic equation | Are fourth-degree equations with no odd-degree terms. Ex: ax (elevado 4) + bx (elevado 2) + c = 0 |
| Rational equation | Is an equation containing at least one fraction whose numerator and denominator are polynomials P(x)/ Q(x). |
| Equations with radicals | Are equations where the unknown (x) in under a square root. |
| Exponential equations | Are equations where the unknown (x) is in the exponent. |
| Logarithmic equations | Are equations where the unknown (x) is in an expression affected by a logarithm. |
| System of linear equations | Two equations form a system of equations when our aim is to find a common solution. Both of them must be linear equations. |
