| Projectile | Any body thrown with some initial velocity, which is then allowed to move under the action of gravity alone, without being propelled by any engine or fuel. |
| Trajectory | The path followed by a projectile. |
| Examples of projectile motion | ball rolling off a table, car running off the edge of the cliff etc. |
| Projectile launched at a steeper angle | Goes slower than when it is launched at a shallow angle |
| Maximum height and range | angle = 45 degree |
| Time of flight | 2u sinx / g |
| height | u^2 sin^2(x) / 2g |
| Range | u^2 sin(2x) / g |
| Newton's law for a solid medium | velocity, v = sqrt(T / m) |
| Mass per unit length | m = π d^2 (rho) / 4 |
| Frequency | v/lambda |
| v | v_0 sin(wt) |
