SAT Vocab 4th Six Weeks

acronym a word formed from the inital letters of a name or by combining initial letters or parts of a series of words (WAC for Women's Army Corps)

pormanteu word a word formed by merging the sounds and meanings of two different words, blend
spoonerism an accidental but humerous distortion of words in a phrase formed by interchanging the initial sounds
diligence constand and earnest effort to accomplish a task; careful attention
fastidious Difficult to satisfy or please; exacting. possesssing or displaying careful attention to detail
foresight the ability to see what is likely to happen and to prepare for it accordingly; careful thought or concern for the future
judicious having or exhibiting sound judgement; sensible; wise
meticulous extremely careful and precise, excessively concerned with details
minutae minor or trivial details
prudent exercising caution, good judgement, or common sense in handling practical matters; giving thought to ones actions and their consequences
