Ninety-seven lunch trays were placed equally in 4 stacks. How many lunch trays were in each stack? How many lunch trays will be left over? 97 ÷ 4 = 24 r 1 There will be 24 lunch trays in each of the 4 stacks. There will be 1 lunch tray left over.
Solve 61 ÷ 5 using an area model. Use long division and the distributive property to record your work. 61 ÷ 5 = 12 r 1 (50 ÷ 5) + (10 ÷ 5) 10 + 2 12 (with 1 remaining)
Solve 73 ÷ 3 using an area model. Use long division and the distributive property to record your work. 73 ÷ 3 = 24 r 1 (60 ÷ 3) + (12 ÷ 3) 20 + 4 24 (with 1 remaining)
Solve 52 ÷ 3 using an area model. Use long division and the distributive property to record your work. 52 ÷ 3 = 17 r 1 (30 ÷ 3) + (21 ÷ 3) 10 + 7 17 (with 1 remaining)
Solve 63 ÷ 4 using an area model. Use long division and the distributive property to record your work. 63 ÷ 4 = 15 r 3 (40 ÷ 4) + (20 ÷ 4) 10 + 5 15 (with 3 remaining)
