Purple (tube) is an anticoagulant with Edta that binds calcium; it is a plasma; Hematology lab dept; tests for cbc, cbc/diff,sed rate, plt count, hgb, and hct
Light Blue i(tube) is an anticoagulant with sodium citrate that binds calcium; it is a plasma; goes to coagulation lab dept: Tests for PTT, PT,D-dimer, and fibrinogen.
Gray (tube) is an anticoagulant with potassium oxilate that binds calcium; it is a plasma; goes to the chemistry lab dept; tests for glucose, alcohol and lactic acid.
Royal Blue (tube) is and isnt an anticoagulant; edta, heparin and nothing; could be a serum or plasma; goes to chemistry or toxicology; tests for arsneic, nutritional lead and mercury
Pink(tube) is an anticoagulent; it has edta and binds calcium; is a plasma; bloodbank lab dept; tests for ABo RH, type and screen and crossmatch, and antibody screens.
