Mean, Median, Mode, Range
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Mean | Average. Add up all the values of a set. Then divide by the number of values in the set. |
| Median | The Middle. Put all the data values in order from least to greatest. The one in the middle is the median. ** If there are two middle numbers, add them together and divide by 2.** |
| Mode | The Most. This is the date value(s) that occurs most often. |
| Range | Highest Value - Lowest Value |
| Central Tendency | The measures of center. Mean, Median, and Mode |
| Outlier | A value that is much higher or lower than the rest (doesn't fit in). |
| Maximum | Largest |
| Minimum | Smallest |
| Data Value | The individual values in a set of data. |
| Frequency Table | A table that uses tallies or numbers to organize data. |
| Line Plot | A number line with marks above each value to show how many times that number occurred. |
