How long did it take him to found his city? Two years
What is the city of Pizarro? The City of the Kings (Reyes) - Lima, Peru
How did other conquistadors become famous? They obtained (obtenar) requests (riquezas) of gold and silver for the Crown and directing (realizar) deeds.

What did the conquistadors consider themselves? Carriers (portadores) of the truth (la verdad) and wanted to convert the indigenous people.
Who did the conquistadores want to serve? God (Dios) and the king
How were the conquistadors like the Middle Ages (Edad Media)? Like in Europe when men had vassals (vasallos), the conquistadores and the first settlers (primeros pobladores) had the ambition to become men of vassals.
What did this ambition result in? The institution of the encomienda.

What did the encomienda do? It entrusted a group of indigenous people to a spaniard, the encomendero.
What was the system like in the beginning times of colonization? They had no control over the encomenderos that committed (cometieron) all types of abuse to the indigenas.
Where was the abuse of the "indigenas" especially? In the mines (las minas)
What happened to the "poblacion indigena"? It dropped fast

Why did it drop so fast? Epidemias (epidemics), the ill-treatment (maltrato) of the work (las exigencias laborales) from the encomenderos, and the collapse of their cultura and their religion
What did the rapid descent of the indigenous population result in? The trade (el trafico) of Africans, enslaved people (esclavizada)
