| Single Replacement | When one element replaces another in a compound. |
| Empirical Formula | The symbols for the elements combined in a compound, with subscripts showing the smallest whole number mole ratio of the different atoms in the compound. |
| Decomposition | When a single compound reacts to produce 2 or more substances. |
| Combustion | When a substance combines with O gas. |
| Mole Ratio | Relates the amount of moles of any two substances in a reaction. |
| Stoichometry | The study of quantities of materials consumed and produced in Chemical reactions. |
| Limited Reactant | Substance that is used up in the reaction. |
| Synthesis | When 2 or more substances combine to form a new one. |
| Percent Composition | Mass of element in sample compound divided by Mass of sample of compound X 100. |
| Double Displacement | When the ions of 2 compounds exchange places. |
