Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Decimal Point A period separating the ones and the tenths in a decimal number.
Decimal A number that has a digit in the tenths place, hundredths place, and/or beyond.
Equivalent Decimals Decimals that have the same value.
Expanded Form A way of writing a number as the sum of the values of its digits.
Period The name given to each group of three digits in a place-value chart.
Place The position of a digit in a number.
Standard Form The usual way of righting a number that shows only its digits, no words.
Place Value The value given to a digit by its place in a number.
Place-Value Chart A chart showing the value of each number in a multi-digit whole number.
