Plot elements

TermDefinition
Plot sequence of events that make up a story
Protagonist “Good Guy”
Antagonist “Bad Guy”
Exposition The introductory material which gives the setting, presents the characters, and presents other facts necessary to understanding the story
Rising Action The events or actions that lead to the climax
Climax is the turning point in the story; something in the story changes.
Falling Action The events leading to the resolution.
Conflict - The main problem in the story.
Resolution The solution; the conflict is solved.
Theme The stories message about life- what the author wants us to take away.
