Associative Property | When adding or multiplying, it does not matter where you place the parentheses. |
commutative Property | You can change the order in which you add or multiply and it does NOT change the sum or product. |
Complex Fractions | Fractions that contain fractions within their numerator and/or denominator. |
Dividing Two Fractions | Dividing 2 fractions is the same as taking the first fraction and multiplying it by the reciprocal of the second fraction. Also known as keep change flip. |
Equivalent Rations | Two ratios that have the same value. |
Per | For each ($30 per jacket) |
Product | The answer to a multiplication question. |
Quotient | The answer to a division question. |
Repeating Decimal | A number or group of numbers is repeated indefinitely. |
Terminating Decimal | A decimal number that contains a infinite number of digits after the decimal point. Also known as a number that ends. |
Unit Rate | A rate with a denominator of ONE. |
Exponents | A method for representing repeated multiplication. |
Rate | A quantity measured and compared to another quantity measured (such as number of miles per hour) |
