| AERIAL OR ATMOSPHERIC PERSPECTIVE | method of creating the illusion of depth in a painting or drawing by modulating colour to simulate changes effected by the atmosphere on the colours of things seen at a distance |
| IMPLIED (LINE) | line that is not actually drawn, but created by the viewer's eyes by connecting other elements of the artwork |
| SOLID (COLOR) | uniform in color, plain, with no patterns |
| SELF-PORTRAIT | a representation of oneself (as a drawing, painting or photograph) done by oneself |
| BLURRED | hard to see, indistinct, not well-defined |
| HATCHING | closely drawn parallel lines, as for shading in drawing |
