Describe - to add details and descriptions to the past
Used to - to say it happened repeatedly in the past
Was/were happening when something occurred - to say what was happening when an action/event took place in the past
Internal states in the past (Emotion, Physical, Mental) - to describe feelings/states in the past
Time - to say "when" something happened in the past
Preterite - to say an action was completed (begin/end) in the past
