CONPTT Criteria
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Consistent | The data is almost the same when repeated. |
| Observable | Can be observed and explained. Limited to basic human senses. |
| Natural | A natural cause must be used to explain why or how the event happened. |
| Predictable | Can be used to foretell an event or if it's true or false. |
| Testable | Testable through science and controlled experimentation. |
| Tentative | Theories must be revised and scientific theories will be modified. |
| Hypothesis | an educated guess |
| Theory | a mixture of facts and a good, tested hypothesis |
| Pseudoscience | beliefs mistaken on a scientific method (fake science) |
| Scientific Hypothesis | a possible, testable explanation for an event |
| Scientific Theory | a possible tested and verified explanation |
| Natural Philosophy | was the study of unanswered questions about nature |
| Controlled Experimentation | testing one thing to see if it affects something else |
| Not Science Examples | religions, clothing choices, opinions |
