complex fraction a fraction where the numerator, denominator, or both contain
constant of proportionality the constant ratio in a proportional.
constant rate of change the rate of change between any two points in a linear relationship is the same or constant
constant of variation a constant ratio in a direct variation
coordinate plane A coordinate system in which a horizontal number line and a vertical number line intersect at there zeros points.
cross products a direction given by the right hand rule and a magnitude equal to the area of the parallelogram
dimensional analysis the process of including units of measurement when you comput
direct variation a relationship between two variable quantities with a constant ratio
equivalent ratios two ratios that have the same value
non portional is a line that does not cross through the origin
proportion a line that does cross through the origin
proportional proper relation between things or parts
ordered pair a pair of numbers used to locate a point in the coordinate plane
origin The point of intersection of the x-axis and y-axis
quadrants The four section of the coordinate plane
rate one measured against some other quantity or measure
rate of change often used when speaking about momentum
slope the rate of change between any two points on a line
unit rate a rate with a denominator of 1
unit ratio a ratio with a denominator of 1
x-axis The horizontal number line that helps to form the coordinate plane
x-coordinate The first number of an ordered pair
y-axis The vertical number line that helps to form the coordinate plane
y-coordinate the second number of ordered pair
