SER is used to described... permanent qualities and characteristics and time
ESTAR is used to describe... temporary conditions, emotions and locations

the word "en" usually follows the verb.... estar
Estamos en la clase de espanol. We are in Spanish class :)
No estamos en la clase de historia. We are not in History class.
yo means.. I
el, ella means... he, she
nosotros means... we
ellos means they
ustedes means... you all (plural)
las matematicas means math
un cognado es a cognate - word that looks, means and basically sounds the same in two languages.
