Place Values

TermDefinition
Round To change a number to a more convenient value.
Whole Number A counting number from zero to infinity, no fractions, decimal fractions or negative numbers
Decimal A number expressed in the scale of tens.
Thousands Fourth number to the left of the decimal.
Hundreds Third number to the left of the decimal.
Tens Second number to the left of the decimal.
Ones First number to the left of the decimal.
Decimal Point A point or dot used to separate the whole part of a number from the fractional part of a number
Tenths First number to the right of the decimal.
Hundredths Second number to the right of the decimal.
Thousandths Third number to the right of the decimal.
