Domain Specific Words

TermDefinition
Angle of rotation The amount of rotation (in degrees) of a figure about a fixed point such as the origin
Center of rotation In a rotation, it is the point that does not move
Congruent Having the same size, shape, and measure
Image The result of a transformation
Pre-Image A figure before a transformation has taken place
Reflection A mirror image
Reflection line A line that acts as a mirror so that corresponding points are the same distance from the mirror
Rotation A transformation that turns a figure about a fixed point
Transformation A change in position or size; reflection, rotation, translation, or dilation
Translation Moving a figure in any direction without rotating it
