Sample Vocabulary Cards

TermDefinition
Power The result of using an exponent.
Exponent The number that tells you how many times to multiply a base number by itself.
Base The number that gets multiplied by itself when using an exponent
Number A count or measurement
Digit A single symbol (0-9) used to make number
Place (Value) The value of where a digit is within a number
Value (of a digit) The result of multiplying digit x place (value).
Product The answer when 2 or more numbers are multiplied together
Exponential Form A way of representing repeated multiplication of the same number using a base number and an exponent
Standard Form A number as we would normally write it.
Expanded Form A number written to show the value of each digit
Pattern Things arranged following a rule or rules
