| Term | Definition |

| Power | The result of using an exponent. |
| Exponent | The number that tells you how many times to multiply a base number by itself. |
| Base | The number that gets multiplied by itself when using an exponent |
| Number | A count or measurement |
| Digit | A single symbol (0-9) used to make number |
| Place (Value) | The value of where a digit is within a number |
| Value (of a digit) | The result of multiplying digit x place (value). |
| Product | The answer when 2 or more numbers are multiplied together |
| Exponential Form | A way of representing repeated multiplication of the same number using a base number and an exponent |
| Standard Form | A number as we would normally write it. |
| Expanded Form | A number written to show the value of each digit |
| Pattern | Things arranged following a rule or rules |
