Ratios and Unit Rate

TermDefinition
Ratio a relationship or comparison of two quantities, usually represented as two numbers.
Unit Rate (Unit Price) a rate in which one of the quantities is one. (the cost of one unit or item). If 2 shirts are $20...the unit price would be the cost of 1 shirt which is $10.
Denominator the bottom number in a fraction, which shows the number of parts the whole has been divided into.
Numerator the top number in a fraction, which shows the number that is being broken up into parts.
Per for every unit, represented by a fraction bar(/). $12 per 1 shirt
unit n mathematics, the quantity used to measure things, such as seconds, pounds, inches, feet, meters, mile and yard.
Simplify to reduce a fraction or expression to its lowest terms. 2/4 = 1/2
Quantity the value or amount of something.
Equivalent equal to something else.
