enfermarse to get sick
Me enfermo mucho en el otoño. I get sick a lot in the fall.
Casi nunca me enfermo en el verano. I almost never get sick in the summer.
Ella se enferma mucho en el invierno. She gets sick a lot in the winter.
Nosotros siempre nos enfermamos en la primavera. We always get sick in the spring.

Pedro no está resfriado, pero le duele la cabeza y no puede ir a la universidad hoy. Pedro does not have a cold but he has a headache and cannot go to school today.
estornudar to sneeze
Estornudamos con cuidado. We sneeze carefully.
Ellos estornudan por las alergias. The sneeze because of allergies.
Estornudaste. Salud. You sneezed. Health (often used instead of bless you).
examinar to examine
Voy a reservar una cita en la clínica porque me siento mal. I am going to get an appointment at the clinic because I feel bad.
Ellos no se sienten bien. They do not feel good.
Tengo fiebre. I have fever.
Él no tiene fiebre, pero tiene mucho dolor de cabeza. He does not have fever, but he has a severe headache.
Ella no tiene fiebre, pero le duele mucho el estómago. She does not have fever, but she has a severe stomachache.
Siempre tengo tos cuando estoy resfriado. I always cough when I have a cold.
No tengo gripe. I do not have the flu (some say gripe for a cold).
A Marcos le duele el estómago y tiene náuseas. Marcos has a stomach ache and he is nauseated.

Primero, vamos a tomarle la temperatura. First, we are going to take your temperature.

Voy a tomar una aspirina para la fiebre. I am going to take an aspirin for my fever.
Ella va a tomar un jarabe para la tos. She is going to take cough syrup for her cough.
Voy a la farmacia. I am going to the pharmacy.
Tengo catarro. I have a cold.
El antibiótico es para la infección. The antibiotic is for the infection.
Son treinta pastillas. It´s thirty pills.
Tengo que tomar una pastilla tres veces al día. I need to take a pill three times a day.
No quiero ir a la sala de emergencia. I don´t want to go to the emergency room.
Hay cincuenta personas en la sala de espera. There are fifty people in the waiting room.
La enfermedad dura tres días. The illness lasts three days.
La farmacia está cerca de mi casa. The pharmacy is close to my house.
El consultorio está lejos de mi casa. The doctor´s office is far from my house.
Ella es una buena paciente. She is a good patient.
El niño es un buen paciente. The boy is a good patient.
La niña tiene mucha tos. The girl has a severe cough.
¿Qué medicina recomienda usted? What medicine do you recommend (formal).
¿Qué antibiótico recomienda usted? What antibiotic do you recommend (formal).
Soy alérgica a la penicilina. I am allergic to penicillin.
Aquí tiene la receta para el antibiótico. He you have the prescription for the antibiotic.
Es un jarabe. It´s a syrup.
Es para tomar por diez días. It´s to take for ten days.
El médico viene ahora. The doctor is coming now.
La enfermera viene ahora. The nurse is coming now. (female nurse)
El enfermero está con otro paciente. The nurse is with another patient. (male nurse)
