Multiplication and Division

TermDefinition
Array A way of showing objects in equal rows and columns.
Area model A rectangular model used to show multiplication by multiplying length x width.
Partial products Products found by multiplying one factor by each of the place values of the other factor.
Product The answer to a multiplication problem.
Sum The answer to an addition problem.
Difference The answer to a subtraction problem.
Quotient The answer to a division problem.
Remainder The number that REMAINS after division is complete.
Factor A number that when multiplied with another number gives you a certain product.
Multiple Skip counting gives you these. Example 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21 are _______________ of 3.
Prime number A number that only has two factors ( 1 and itself).
Composite number A number that has more than two factors.
