Place Value
| Term | Definition |

| Place value | The position of a digit in a number that tells the value of the digit. |
| Millions | The place value to the left of the thousands period. |
| Expanded Form | A number written as the sum of the values of its digits. Example 100+20+4=124 |
| Rounding | A process that determines which multiple of 10, 100, 1,000, and so on, a number is closest to. |
| Variable | A letter that represents a number. |
| Inverse operations | operations that undo each other. Example addition and subtraction. |
| Expression | Contains numbers and at least one operation. Example 6 x 4 |
| Equation | A number sentence with an EQUAL sign. |
