Behavioural Contract AKA Contingency Contract; a document that specifies a contingent relationship between the completion of a specified behaviour and access ti, or delivery of, specified reward, such as free time/access to preferred activity

Hero Procedure Another term for a dependent group contingency (i.e. person who earns the reward for the entire group)
Independent Group Contingency When a contingency is presented to all members of a group, but reinforcement is delivered only to those group members who meed the criterion outlined in the contingency; frequently used with contingency contracting + token economies
Interdependent Group Contingency When all members of a group must meet the criterion of the contingency (individually and as a group) before any member earns the reward
Level System A type of token economy in which participants move up (and sometimes down) a hierarchy of levels contingent on meeting specific performance criteria with respect to the target behaviours
Self-Contract Contingency contract that a person makes with herself, incorporating self- selected task(s) and reward, as well as, personal monitoring of task completions and self-delivering the reward
Token An object that is awarded contingent on appropriate behaviour and that serves as the medium of exchange for backup reinforcers
Token Economy A behaviour change system consisting of three components: 1. specified list of target behaviours 2. Tokens/ points received for emitting T.B. 3. menu of backup reinforcers for exchanging tokens (preferred activities/ items)
