Cooper Chapter 23
Antecedent Interventions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Antecedent Intervention | A behaviour change strategy that manipulates contingency-independent antecedent stimuli (MO) |
| Behavioural Momentum | A metaphor to describe a rate of responding and its resistance to change following an alteration in reinforcement conditions |
| Fixed-Time Schedule (FT) | A schedule for delivery of non contingent stimuli in which a time interval remains in the same from one delivery to the next |
| Functional Communication Training (FCT) | Establishes an appropriate communicative behaviour to compete with problem behaviours evoked by an establishing operation (EO) |
| High- Probability Request Sequence (High-P) | When instructor presents a series of easy-to follow requests for which the participant has a history of compliance |
| Noncontingent Reinforcement (NCR) | An antecedent intervention in which the stimuli with known reinforcing properties are delivered on a fixed-time or variable-time schedule independent of the learners behaviour |
| Variable-Time Schedule (VT) | A schedule for the delivery of non-contingent stimuli in which the interval of time from one delivery to the next randomly varies around a given time |
