Pythagorean Theorem

| Pythagorean Theorem | a²+b²=c² |
| hypotenuse | the longest side of a right triangle |
| legs | two sides of a right triangle that form the right angle |
| right triangle | a triangle that has a 90 degree angle. |
| irrational number | any real number which cant be expressed as a fraction of two integers |
| square root | a number that when multiplied by itself equals a given number |
| radical sign | a symbol to indicate the square root |
| rational number | any number that can be expressed as a ratio of two integers |
| Pythagorean triple | a set of three whole numbers that satisfy the Pythagorean Theorem |
| perfect square | A rational number whose square root is a whole number |
| whole number | a number without fractions; an integer. |
| x-axis | the horizontal axis on a coordinate plane |
| y-axis | the vertical axis on a coordinate plane |
| x-coordinate | the first number in an ordered pair |
| y-coordinate | the second number in an ordered pair |
