Parts of Speech

QuestionAnswer
Noun person, place, thing, or idea (example- dog)
Pronoun takes the place of a noun (example- he)
Verb an action or being word (examples- run and is)
Adjective describes a noun ; answers how many, what kind, or which one (example- nice)
Adverb describes a verb, adjective, or another adverb; answers how, when, or where; many end in -ly (example- quickly)
Interjection shows strong feeling (example- Ouch!)
Conjunction joins words or groups of words together (example- and)
Preposition relates a noun or pronoun to another word in the sentence; many show position (example- above)
