The Globe Theatre facts (2) The Globe Theatre Built in 1599 in Southwark, England, the Globe Theatre. It was not only one of the most famous playhouses of all time, but also the playhouse where Shakespeare performed many of his great plays.
The Globe Theatre seating (3) Seating in the Elizabethan theatre was determined by wealth and social status. Each person paid a penny for admission For an additional fee, one could sit in one of the galleries protected from the weather.
