The servants of the house of Capulet are already using insulting language to generalize about members of the Montague family. What kind of insults are they calling them? The servants of the house of the Capult’s call them dogs, say that they are going to rape the woman of the house, and cut their head off.
What are the names of the servants from the house of Capulet? Who are the Montague servants they run into? The names of the servants from the house of the Capulets are Samson and Gregery. The Montague that they run into is named Abram.
What are the attitudes of these characters toward the law? (lines 40-44) The attitude towards the law is that they respect the law.
Line 56: What is Benvolio trying to do? (Who is Benvolio?) In line 56, Benvolio is trying to make peace between the people making a fight. Benvolio is the cousin and friend of Romeo.
Line 59-60, 63-65: Re-read these lines, and explain what kind of character Tybalt is, based on what he says. (Who is Tybalt?) In the lines listed above, the type of character that Tybalt is that he just wants to fight any of the Montagues no matter what. Tybalt is Juliet's cousin. The Prince comes to sustain order.

Lines 99-108: Does Benvolio seem to be telling the truth about what happened during the fight? Benvolio does seem like he is telling the truth about what happened during the fight. In addition, he is also a little biased.
How would you describe Lady Montague’s personality in lines 109-110? Lady Montague is a worried mother that cares about her children's well being and what her children are feeling. Overall, Lady Montague is a good person.
Before we meet him, Romeo is talked about by his father and his cousin. What do we know about him thus far? How has he been spending his time? Throughout the beginning of the story we know that Romeo is very sad and overall he seems to be a good person. Romeo is spending his time by walking in the woods alone and when he is home he is in his bedroom in complete darkness being sad.
In line 157-161, Romeo admits the truth about why he’s been so sad: what is the cause of his behavior? The cause of his behavior is that he is in love with someone that will not love him back. He is in love with a woman that says that she is going to not fall in love and that she is going to be a virgin for the rest of her life.
In line 166, Romeo wants to change the subject by asking Benvolio where they will eat and then what does he notice? Romeo is talking about where they will eat and then he notices blood on the ground and he asks what happens, and Bevolio tells him about the fight that happened here a few minutes ago.
What is an oxymoron and what are examples of oxymorons in Romeo’s dialogue from lines 169-176. An oxymoron are contradictory words used together in a sentence. Romeo says “O brawling love! O loving hate! Love that comes from happiness! Sad happiness! Serious foolishness!” Romeo is saying two contradictory words together that means opposite things.
How does Romeo’s use of these oxymorons bitterly relate to the love he feels? These oxymorons bitterly relate to how he feels about love because it shows how he truly feels about love. The love that he feels hurts him in many ways, and it also shows that in his situation it is good and bad at the same time.
Lines 204-210: According to Romeo, why does the young woman he is in love with refuse him? The young woman refuses to love him because the woman says that she is going to not fall in love and that she is going to be a virgin for the rest of her life. If she falls in love then she will most likely lose her virginity later.
At the end of the scene, Benvolio gives Romeo some advice. What’s his advice? What’s Romeo’s response? The advice that Benvolio gives to Romeo is to try to date and see other girls and forget about the girl that will not love him. Romeo's response is that he does not want to see other girls because they will not measure up to the girl that he likes.
What “suit” does Paris bring to Capulet in Scene 2? The suit that Paris brings to Capulet in Scene 2 is that Paris wants Lord Capulet’s permission to have Juliet's hand in marriage.
How old is Juliet? What are her father’s thoughts about allowing her to marry? Juliet is 13 years old almost 14. Lord Capulet’s thinks its not a good idea because he thinks that Juliet is too young and he thinks that the idea of marriage can wait until two summers.
Lord Capulet’s willingness to allow Juliet to have a say in whom she marries is pretty progressive. Why, do you suppose, Capulet is willing to take Juliet’s feelings into consideration? Lord Capulet is considerate of Juliet's feelings related to the marriage. In addition, Lord Capulet might have just said that so that Paris would leave him alone and there is still a chance that Juilet will not agree.
Why is the Capulet servant upset about having been given a list of party guests to find? Capulet’s servant is upset about having been given the list of party guests to find because he can noy read and so he doesn’t even know what people are on the list. If the servant doesn’t know who is on the list then he will not be able to invite them.
Why does Benvolio want to crash the party? Why does Romeo agree? Benvolio wants Romeo to meet other woman, other than Rosalina. Romeo agrees to go with Benvolio because he finds out the Rosalina the woman that Romeo loves is going to be there and so he can see her and try to change her mind in some way.
What does Romeo want to happen to his eyes if they find someone other than Rosaline desirable at the party? What does this show us about Romeo? Romeo wants his eyes to lie to him then he says to let his tears turn into flames and burn them for being such obvious liars if he finds someone else desirable at the party. Romeo love Rosalina and he will not betray her. Romeo is dramatic.
In your own words, explain the two stories the Nurse tells about Juliet. The Nurse tells a story about when she put bitter wormwood on her breats so that Juliet would stop nursing. Juliet was not expecting it and she was not happy about it. Juliet fell down and the Nurse's husband made a sex joke about it.
Explain Lady Capulet’s opinion about Paris. Lady Csapulet thinks that Paris is very good looking and also a good/gentle man. In addition, she also thinks that this is a great opportunity for Juliet and there would be many girls that would love to have Paris as their husband.
What is Juliet’s reaction to her mother’s request? What does this reveal about Juliet? Juliet says that it is an honor that she can not dream of, also she says that she will try her best to like him and see if there is anything likeable. The reaction reveals that she is a good person, and listens.
